After years of wedding experience, I’ve seen all kinds of reception celebrations. Something that has a great impact on your reception vibe is your DJ!

They provide so much more than speakers and a playlist.

One of my favorites is DJ Mast, and he’s sharing a few words today!

What makes a good DJ?

“Choose a DJ for your type of event! Pick the DJ who has a personality that you vibe well with and who has experience with multiple types of special events. Special event experience is invaluable for the small details that mean everything on a wedding day or other special event. Clubs do not always provide a multi-generational experience that most special events entail. A detail oriented DJ means your requests are noted – and prioritized! Do you want lighting? Make sure you see actual examples of what your DJ can provide in packaging. Stock or borrowed images may not be accurate to what is being contracted, which is an important aspect in visualizing and then deciding on what you want.

-Pick a personality you can feel really good about

-Prioritize professionalism, organization and honesty

-Know that what lighting and audio you see is what you get”
