Can I share something simple that has a huge affect on how your wedding day images turn out?

Skincare!  Don’t over look it.

Friends, I get it…I don’t have the best skin.  It’s blotchy, freckly, I still get acne.
But how you treat your skin before your big day will greatly affect your makeup application.  Professional makeup can help make you shine on your wedding day.  But it won’t make look skin look well cared for if it’s just not.

Cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize – make sure that your make up artist has the best canvas possible!

It’ll ensure that you both look and feel equally amazing when you walk down that aisle to say ‘I do’!

Carefully select skincare products that suit your individual needs. Avoid harsh chemicals and unsafe ingredients.

Here’s 5 things that should never be in your skincare routine:

1. Benzalkonium Chloride
A disinfectant used as a preservative and surfactant associated with severe skin, eye, and respiratory irritation and allergies. Found in: sunscreens, moisturizers.

2. Parabens (methyl-, isobutyl-, propyl- and others)
A class of preservatives commonly used to prevent the growth of bacteria and mold. Parabens are endocrine (or hormone) disruptors, which may alter important hormone mechanisms in our bodies.

3. Synthetic flavor or fragrance
An engineered scent or flavoring agent that may contain any combination of 3,000-plus stock chemical ingredients, including hormone disruptors and allergens. Fragrance formulas are protected under federal law’s classification of trade secrets and therefore can remain undisclosed.

4. Oxybenzone
Sunscreen agent and ultraviolet light absorber linked to irritation, sensitization and allergies, and possible hormone disruption.

5. Butylatedhydroxy Anisole and Butylated Hydroxytoluene
Synthetic antioxidants used to extend shelf life. They are likely carcinogens and hormone disruptors and may cause liver damage.

If you found any of these in your daily items – I’d highly recommend swapping out those products for Beautycounter items!
