A breathtaking bride, stunning florals, and a beautiful family farm is certainly something special. Sarah + Scott’s wedding day will go down as one of my favorites ever!
As soon as I turned down the long dirt driveway and caught a glimpse of the barn where the reception would be, I knew this day would be nothing short of amazing. In the midst of the search for the perfect venue, the brides family had the idea of re-building their own barn (which had burned down a few years ago) in time for the wedding. Can you imagine a more meaningful venue?!
On top of that, Sarah shared a story about the two trees under which they shared their vows… “When I was in kindergarten, my dad came on a field trip with me to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. During our lunch break, we were sitting under some trees on the National Mall and found some seeds laying on the ground. My dad picked them up and said “Let’s plant these when we get home and someday when we have a farm, we will plant them in the front yard.” At the time we were living in a townhouse… We moved 4 more times within the next 5 years…We toted the trees around in buckets from house to house until we finally moved onto this farm. They were the first two trees we planted on the property. They were 10-15 feet tall at the time. Now they are the biggest trees on our property.”
AND it gets better, that’s the exact spot where Scott proposed to Sarah!
I don’t usually share too much about the wedding days I shoot, but I definitely had to include those precious details that make this day so special. I am so excited to be sharing this one!!
